I’m Johnny Mackay, owner and operator of Plane and Chisel Tasmania. Aside from a specialisation in sash window restoration, and furniture repair, we also build our own chairs, stools, totes, cabinets and other furniture, and then teach people how to build theirs! We do this through the use of traditional hand tools and old time techniques creating work, that’s forever. for the perfect bushland experience!
Come and enjoy an information packed crafting experience learning about and using, traditional woodworking tools and processes. The skills you learn are transferrable and relate to many other aspects of our daily lives. Plus, working among the trees outside, or in the workshop, gives an almost surreal aspect to creating quality timber pieces for you or your loved ones. All workshops include tea and coffee as required and takeaway information handouts. There’s plenty of room too so, if you’re staying over to camp, or in a caravan or wagon etc, it’s probable we’ll all share a woodfired pizza for dinner too! Welcome to WOODLAND!
